Exact Metrology Helps Sculptor Create Life-Size Statues of First Responders

Cincinnati native Tom Tsuchiya is a well-known artist whose previous work includes bronze statues of former Cincinnati Reds players near the entrance of the Great American Ball Park and the inductees of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Now, Tsuchiya’s artistic skills are on display in Florence, Kentucky. The Florence Community Plaza features life-size statues of a firefighter, a public service worker and a police officer.

Jason Kleinhenz is one of many Exact Metrology employees at the company’s Cincinnati office, located at 11575 Goldcoast Drive. While he does not have an official job title at the company, Kleinhenz describes himself both as an engineer and as a trainer. His first work experience came at age 12, when he and his brother started their own lawn care business. Exact Metrology Helps Create Statue of Civil Rights Activist

A statue honoring Cincinnati civil rights activist Marian Spencer is underway. While Cincinnati already has several mythical representations of women, this would be the first statue of a real woman. Spencer was the first African American woman elected to Cincinnati City Council (1983) and the first female president of the Cincinnati Chapter of the NAACP (1981). She led the campaign to desegregate Coney Island swimming pools in the 1950s when her children were denied entry based on their skin color. Her subsequent lawsuit lead to integration. Exact Metrology Scans Monoliths in Peru

Between August 5 and August 19, Jason Kleinhenz, the marketing manager of Exact Metrology, visited Peru. His mission was to assist archeologist and teacher, Daniel Fernandez-Davila and a group of 12 others to collect scan data of ancient artifacts. Daniel Fernandez-Davila has made this trip for 21 years, accompanied by his students and residents from Wayland, Massachusetts. Besides Kleinhenz, the team included Antonia Hieronymous, Rachel Lorenc and Nick Ciorogan. Daniel and Antonia started a non-profit called Loose Change. Scanning Monument Circle in Indianapolis

Exact Metrology was contracted by Innovative, a promotional agency in Indianapolis and the creative content providers for the project, to scan Monument Circle which is situated within a big roundabout intersection in the heart of downtown Indy. The focus was aimed at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Recognized as one of the world's outstanding monuments, the structure is the state of Indiana's official memorial to the Hoosiers that served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Frontier Wars and the Spanish-American War. Exact Metrology Scans Bobblehead for Museum

Exact Metrology was hired by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to scan their “Classic Bobble Boy” bobblehead. The bobblehead was scanned with the Hexagon Romer absolute arm. The portable measuring arm allows users to measure on the machine or the shop floor. The Hexagon Romer features no honing procedures, simplicity of operation and reliable 3D measurements. Articulated arms can be equipped with probes of different lengths and scan heads that measure even difficult-to-reach points either optically or by touch.
